In a post last week, I predicted that Technorati’s new favorites list would morph into a list of the 50 most favored blogs. Here is that list, but they give us 50 more for a total of 100. The new favorites feature and It is all explained in the Technorati blog.
Here are the PR blogs that appear on the list and their rank (if I missed anyone, let me know, as I am sure you will):
- Rank 1: Steve Rubel (117 people)
- Rank 64: NevilleHobson.com (16 people)
- Rank 81: Media Orchard (13 people)
I have added a button under my Subscription Options for those that who might want to use Technorati Favorites as their “reader.” Some service like this seems the way that it will have to go to make people who don't know about (or care about) RSS. The new Technorati favorites makes “subscribing” seemless.
That said, I do have one caveat about relying on Technorati to keep up with your favorite blogs. Sometimes they aren’t so good about keeping up with posts. For instance, my blog says it hasn’t been updated in 4 days (obviously not true).
How do you feel about the Top 100 Favorites? Is it just another ego builder for bloggers, or do you think it is a good tool to find blogs that other people think are worthwhile?
