ToddAnd, whom I interviewed as an up-and-coming blogger last September, has outdone himself once again to give us a really nice measurement tool for popularity of a site.
Todd announced earlier this week, while I was still on vacation, that he found a partner to automate the Power 150: Top Marketing Blogs list, and to expand it to include all English-language marketing and communication blogs instead of merely American blogs. For instance, my friend Neville Hobson (#25) is now included. If you have or know of an English language blog that you don’t see on the list, but you feel should be there, just click over to Todd’s site and let him know. The list also includes a handy flag so that you can see in which country each blog is based.
The rankings, which are fueled by an algorithm that includes Google Page Rank, Technorati Ranking, number of Bloglines subscribers to a blog and a subjective rating by Todd himself, is now updated every 24 hours. The automation was incorporated by TechBrew with some cool APIs that they are willing to share as open source.
There is still the cool “Kitchen Sink” function that serves as a “River of News” for the top 150 site, which was added by Clever Clogs using Grazr.
All of the 150 feeds are searchable by keyword or you can just view the river of news without filtering. You can also subscribe to all 150 feeds by downloading the OPML file. I am fortunate, thanks to all of you, to also appear on the list (#46). It is a great place to start your search for blogs on the subjects of marketing, public relations and communications. I found a few new ones there myself.
Very cool. Great work Todd.
