ToddAnd, one of my favorite bloggers, has spent hours watching recordings of Gilmore Girls with his wife and compiling a list of 150 Power MARCOM bloggers.
I like how Todd uses several factors Google PageRank, Bloglines, Technorati and his own subjective rating to make the rankings. I think that we need some kind of tool that would do this automatically. Some of you old timers might remember our one-time fascination with Pub Sub and its eventual demise. Ah well.
In Todd’s post about the rankings he explains that he only included US bloggers (Hey, what about the Canadians, Aussies, UK and Eropeans? Poor Neville, Joe, Lee and Serge), and that MARCOM means Marketing, PR, Advertising and other blogs about Promotion. He also says he looked at over 300 blogs, and did I mention this was done by hand? However, I still think that Todd should rethink his US-only stance since many English-language blogs are heavily read here in the good ol’ US of A. Not to mention I found at least one blog from the UK in the list, but I am not telling who it is in case they get axed and blame it on me.
The list isn’t perfect, but it was interesting, and I was amazed and dismayed to discover how many sites I was unaware even existed. For this alone, I think the list is a great service to the community.
And yes, I am on the list. Check it out if you have time and see if you find your favorite blogs.
