Like many other communicators, I signed up for an account at MyRagan when it launched. It is an interesting site, the “Facebook” for communicators. They have some great content on the site and it serves as a good place for people that may be a bit uncomfortable with MySpace or Facebook to experiment in the medium with like-minded communicators. Now, Regan Communication site has also launched a companion site called MyRaganTV. I had the opportunity to talk with Mark Ragan about this new property a few months ago, and it should serve as a great professional development resource for communicators. I especially like the fact that includes embed code (unlike video on Facebook) so I can bring the content out to my site. As such, I can share with you MyRaganTV's introductory video.
In the interest of full disclosure, there was some early criticism of the site over the removal of the Social Media Club group. You can read about the particulars here and here. Mark Ragan asked to be judged by his actions. In all fairness, I have been impressed by MyRagan and now MyRaganTV's attributes. I am especially impressed by the viral embed codes in the new site. I am still not sure why the Social Media Club was removed, but I think that these properties are especially useful for communicators learning the social media ropes.
