As a PR and marketing consultant, it’s vital that activities which help you get and sell to clients become a focal point of what you do. Neglecting your own marketing can be a death knell.
But what if you’re already pressed for time and feel you can’t possibly squeeze more into an already packed day?
Fortunately there is a process tailor made for creating strategic marketing material that moves your business forward and saves you valuable time! 🥂
Zoetica founder Kami Huyse created it while running the Communities That Convert podcast with co-host Madalyn Sklar a few years ago when she needed a steady influx of content ideas for the show. 🤔
Since then she’s fine-tuned the process and distilled it into the streamlined Cornerstone Content Generator.
“Anything that shortens the process,
is going to get you away from feeling like it’s taking control of you.”
– Kami Huyse
Here’s how it works:
🔦 Step 1: Describe Who You Help
This is the most important part of the content creation process. It may also be the most challenging aspect, especially for those who want to help everyone! Realize, though, that the more you narrow your audience, the better you serve them by focusing on their specific needs and wants.
🔦 Step 2: Choose Your Main Topic
Identify your area of expertise or what you want to become known for. Maybe it’s a particular specialty such as social media strategy or community building. Perhaps it’s the ins-and-outs of marketing on a platform such as LinkedIn or Instagram. Whatever it is, embrace it.
🔦 Step 3: Create Subtopics Around Your Main Topic
Next, choose 3-5 subtopics or categories that fit within your main topic. Kami chose the subtopics (1) Explorer, (2) Visionary, (3) Connector, (4) Creator, (5) Attractor, and (6) Innovator for her new Smart Social Mastery membership program.
🔦 Step 4: Brainstorm 5 Headline Ideas for Each Subtopic
Now it’s time to come up with five headline ideas around each topic. Let your creative juices flow and jot down all the things people should know about a particular topic. In fact, once you get going, you’ll likely be able to think of more than five ideas!
