It has been awhile since I have run a Fun Friday post, but today is Friday and I just stumbled across something fun that is also an interesting example of how one company illustrates their tagline with social media. So, I thought I would share.
GE’s tagline is “Imagination at Work.”
So they created a nifty online tool that can help you to collaborate with others on an idea – to expand your own imagination. Thus, aligning the idea of GE's “imagination” tagline with your own creativity (Hopefully, this works better for “Jimmy”).
The tool is an online drawing program to which you can invite your friends. I made the little graphic above on this post, but I could have sent an IM or e-mail to a friend to have them add their own flair.
It is also pretty fun if you just want to doodle. The GE servers will save your drawing and generate a URL for you.
You also can print your masterpiece or e-mail the link to a friend. Think handwritten birthday card.
I personally wanted a file to add to my blogpost, so I printed the artwork I made to a pdf and then turned it into a jpg. It would be better if GE would let you do this native in the application, but I assume they are trying to drive traffic instead of goodwill. That said, I like the little program, it is elegant, simple to use, and best of all – fun!
Happy drawing and happy Friday!
Thanks to Woolard Speak for the link.
