Well, I hate to admit that I am antiquated, but it is true. I want to use an offline editing system, but I tend to hate them. Also, because I use Flickr images so often, none of these systems are really set up for that.
However, I am interested in using one, so here I am again, testing the new Microsoft LiveWriter Beta 2. I had, and tested, Beta 1, but I hit a snag and went back to my tried and true method of writing the post in Word, pasting into notebook, and then into my Blogger interface. In know, that is so stone age.
Blogger recently made it easier by finally including a save-as-you-go function, making me more complacent (WordPress has had this for ages). Actually, Blogger even lets you have your own URL these days, though I don't think I will be changing mine anytime soon.
LiveWriter still doesn't allow me to search for Flickr images, but it does allow me to get my own images. The new features include:
- Inline spell checking
- Table editing
- Ability to add categories
- Page authoring for WordPress and TypePad
- Support for excerpts and extended entries
- Improved hyperlinking and image insertion
- Paste Special
